This special tool is designed for transmission removal on VW T4 models equipped with the standard front end configuration up to model year 1995.

The support fixture allows the engine to be raised and moved forward in the driving direction during gearbox removal procedures. Once the crankshaft pulley is positioned close to the frame, the transmission can be removed safely and efficiently.

The tool is particularly useful during clutch replacement, gearbox overhaul and transmission servicing operations.

Application

Suitable for VW T4 models with standard front end construction up to model year 1995.

For VW T4 models from model year 1995 onwards with the extended 80 mm front end, an additional auxiliary support frame is required.

Compatible with the following engine codes:

Function

During transmission removal, the engine must be lifted and pushed forward until the crankshaft pulley nearly contacts the frame. Only then can the gearbox be removed correctly.

The support fixture enables controlled engine positioning in multiple directions, simplifying transmission and clutch service operations.

When used together with the corresponding support fixture, the tool eliminates the need to release torsion bars and readjust vehicle ride height.

The vehicle can also remain on the lift without the transmission installed.
