The adapters are screwed into the glow plug holes to supply compressed air directly to the combustion chamber.
The compressed air holds the valves in their closed position during valve spring removal or installation without removing the cylinder head. The adapters can also be used when diagnosing pressure loss from the combustion chamber.
Instructions for Use
- Remove all glow plugs.
- Turn the piston of the relevant cylinder to top dead centre on the compression stroke.
- Lock the crankshaft in the top dead centre position using a suitable tool.
- Install the correct glow plug hole adapter and close the valve on the adapter.
- Connect the adapter to the compressed-air system and slowly open its valve.
