Crankshaft Turning Tool (1)

Use the crankshaft turning tool (1) together with a ring spanner or socket to rotate the crankshaft until the markings on the camshafts align with the corresponding markings on the camshaft bearing caps.

Camshaft Locking Tools (2)

Position the camshaft locking tools (2) vertically on the flats of the camshafts.

Both locking tools must sit flush on both sides against the camshaft carrier surface. If they do not sit correctly, loosen the camshaft sprockets and rotate the camshafts until both locking tools can be installed in the correct position.

Warning: The bolts on the intake camshaft sprocket have a left-hand thread.

Crankshaft Alignment Block (3) and Alignment Pin (4)

Check that the marking on the crankshaft pulley is still correctly aligned, then remove the pulley.

Fit the crankshaft alignment block (3) onto the crankshaft. Ensure that the alignment pin (4) passes through the alignment block and engages correctly in the engine block.

Secure the alignment block using two of the crankshaft pulley mounting bolts.
