Weight:2.094 Kgs
Overview:
✔ Replaces valve stem seals with the cylinder head installed
✔ Designed for DOHC engines with centrally positioned spark plugs between the camshafts
✔ Compressed air prevents the valves from dropping into the combustion chamber
✔ Suitable for spark-plug threads M14 x 1.25 and M18 x 1.5
✔ Includes three support sleeves and three valve spring pressure pieces
✔ Adjustable spindle angle and position for correct alignment with the valve stem
✔ Operated with a 10 mm T-handle or ratchet
This pneumatic valve spring compressor set is designed for compressing valve springs when replacing valve stem seals with the cylinder head installed.
It is suitable for DOHC engines with spark plugs positioned centrally between the camshafts. Three different support sleeves and three valve spring pressure pieces provide compatibility with most cylinder heads of this design.
Compressed-Air Valve Support
Compressed air is supplied to the cylinder through the spark-plug thread. The resulting pressure holds the valves securely against their seats and prevents them from dropping into the combustion chamber while the valve springs are compressed.
Suitable for the following spark-plug threads:
- M14 x 1.25
- M18 x 1.5
Adjustable Tool Positioning
The angle and distance adjustments allow the pressure spindle to be aligned precisely with the valve stem. Once correctly aligned, the tool can be secured using the fixing screw.
The spindle is operated with a 10 mm T-handle or ratchet.
Instructions
- Remove the spark plug from the cylinder being serviced.
- Insert the appropriate support sleeve into the spark-plug well.
- Pass the compressed-air tube through the sleeve and secure it in the spark-plug thread.
- Mount the main tool body onto the compressed-air tube.
- Align the pressure spindle at the same angle as the valve stem using the angle adjustment.
- Adjust the distance until the pressure spindle is directly aligned with the valve stem, then secure the tool with the fixing screw.
- Move the piston of the relevant cylinder to ignition top dead centre and secure the engine against rotation using a suitable tool.
- Supply compressed air to the cylinder through the air connection.
- Position the correct pressure piece on the valve spring and turn the pressure spindle clockwise using the T-handle. Once the spring is compressed, remove the valve keepers.
