Fiat & Jeep 1.6L E-TorQ Engine Timing Tool Set

This professional set contains all special tools required to replace the timing chain on the E6 E-TorQ engine series. First installed in Fiat 500X, Tipo, Egea, and Jeep Renegade, the chain must be removed with the camshaft sprocket and crankshaft. The camshaft is positioned on the gearbox side, and the crankshaft is secured with a front locking tool.

Workshop Instructions

Disassembly:

• Remove intake manifold and valve cover

• Remove accessory belt with tensioner

• Remove AC compressor and starter motor

• Lock flywheel and loosen central crankshaft bolt

• Remove water pump pulley and front cover

• Remove chain tensioner, engine mount, and front cover plug

• Lock camshaft, remove camshaft sprocket with chain

• Remove camshaft bearing cap, chain guide, and tension rail

• Remove crankshaft sprocket using a puller (recommend Art-Nr. 106651A)

Installation: Reverse the steps above. Align marked chain links with markings on sprockets when replacing the timing chain.

Recommended Torque Values

• Ignition coil: 8–10 Nm

• Valve cover: 10–14 Nm

• Starter motor: 36–44 Nm

• Crankshaft pulley: 40 Nm + 55° (replace bolt)

• Camshaft sprocket: 115 Nm

• Camshaft bearing cap: 9–11 Nm

• AC compressor: 23–27 Nm

• Accessory belt tensioner: 8–10 Nm

• Idler pulley: 31–38 Nm

• Clock (M6): 30 Nm

• Steering cover (Torx M6/M8): 12 Nm / 30 Nm

• Timing chain tensioner: 57–69 Nm

• Guide and tension rails: 23 Nm

• Alternator: 22–28 Nm

• Water pump: 25–31 Nm
