Engine timing tool set designed to lock the camshafts in the correct top dead center (TDC) position during engine repair and timing service. This allows work on the timing system without losing the camshaft timing position.

  1. Remove the spark plugs and install the piston height measuring adapters into the spark plug threads of cylinders 1 and 2.

  2. Slowly rotate the crankshaft until the marks on the measuring adapters align.

  3. Warning: The mark on the crankshaft must remain aligned with the crankshaft position sensor.

  4. If necessary, adjust the crankshaft to the correct position.

  5. Remove the two blanking caps on the camshaft housing.

  6. Position the camshaft alignment tool so that it fits into the slots of the camshaft.

  7. Secure the tool in this position using the hand wheel.

  8. It may be necessary to rotate the crankshaft one full turn further to correctly position all tools.

  9. After installing the new timing belt, adjust the tensioner pulley using the tensioner wrench.
