This special tool set is designed for installing flexible ribbed belts and self-tensioning stretch-fit belts.
It is essential for many Ford models with or without air conditioning and is also suitable for selected Mazda and Volvo engines equipped with a double crankshaft pulley.
The tool guides the flexible belt onto the drive system via the water pump pulley, allowing controlled installation without excessive stretching.
Applications with a Double Crankshaft Pulley
On vehicles with a double crankshaft pulley, typically models equipped with air conditioning, the supplied spacer plate must be installed during the procedure.
Without the spacer plate, the self-tensioning ribbed belt may be overstretched or damaged during installation.
Additional Application
The tool set can also be used as an extension for item.no. 113839.
When used separately, the tool is to be used as 303-128. When combined with item.no. 113839, the complete tool arrangement is to be used as 303-1596.
