This specialized timing tool kit is designed for setting and adjusting timing on Opel 1.0, 1.4 and 1.5 petrol engines from the B..X and D..X engine series (from approx. 2014 onward), including both naturally aspirated and turbocharged variants.
The kit includes both camshaft alignment templates required for accurate timing adjustment.
Functionality
The kit enables precise alignment and locking of engine components:
- Camshaft alignment using dedicated templates
- Balance shaft holding during service
- Accurate timing chain positioning at top dead center (TDC)
- Support for timing chain replacement and engine repair
Timing Setup Note
Correct timing adjustment at TDC requires alignment of colored chain links with corresponding marks:
- Camshaft marking: 12 o’clock position
- Crankshaft marking: 3 o’clock position (keyway at 12 o’clock aligned with engine block mark)

- Timing cover: M14 58 Nm, M6 15 Nm
- Oil pan: 5 Nm → 10 Nm, gearbox side 58 Nm
- Crankshaft pulley: 100 Nm → loosen 360° → 100 Nm + 180°
- Camshaft sprocket: 20 Nm + 90°
- Timing chain tensioner: 25 Nm
- Tensioner rail: 25 Nm
- Guide rail: 10 Nm
- Valve cover: 10 Nm
For B14XE:
- Crankshaft pulley: 100 Nm → loosen 360° → 100 Nm + 180°
- Timing cover: M6 15 Nm, M8 35 Nm, M14 5 Nm → 58 Nm
- Guide rails: 10 Nm
- Tensioner rail: 25 Nm
- Timing chain tensioner: 25 Nm
- Valve cover: 15 Nm
