This professional wheel bearing and wheel hub service kit from REPTOOLS is designed for the removal and installation of pressed and bolted wheel bearings as well as wheel hubs on a wide range of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles.

The set is suitable for most common wheel bearings and tapered roller bearings with separately removable wheel hubs.

Professional Construction

Manufactured from high-quality SCM440 steel and additionally hardened for increased durability and resistance to wear.

The heavy-duty threaded spindle is designed for impact wrench operation and has been tested for long service life under demanding workshop conditions.

Important Usage Information

Although the threaded spindle is suitable for impact wrench use, it is recommended to perform the initial loosening operation and any work on seized or heavily corroded components using a manual drive tool, such as a breaker bar, to reduce stress on the tool and components.

The supplied kit allows wheel bearing removal and installation for bearings with an outer diameter of up to 85 mm.

Wheel Hub Removal

1. Position the extraction yoke with the correct U-shaped insert behind the wheel hub.
2. Insert the threaded spindle with bearing through the center bore until it passes behind the wheel bearing.
3. Check whether a pressure washer is required for wheel hub removal – in most cases, the nut alone is sufficient.
4. Install the nut and ensure that the extraction yoke is properly seated and correctly aligned.
5. Operate the threaded spindle using a T-handle or impact wrench to pull the wheel hub out.

Wheel Bearing Removal

1. Remove the retaining ring from the steering knuckle.
2. Install the extraction ring together with the appropriate adapter disc and locking plate.
3. Insert the spindle and remove the wheel bearing using the suitable pressure disc.
4. Clean the wheel carrier and the retaining ring groove, then apply a suitable lubricant.

Wheel Bearing Installation

1. Use an appropriate pressure piece or the old wheel bearing as a support against the new wheel bearing, if available. Take care not to damage the ABS sensor ring.
2. Position the corresponding pressure piece on the opposite side and align it with the spindle and nut.
3. Press the wheel bearing fully into place until installation is complete.
4. Reinstall the retaining ring.

Wheel Hub Installation

1. Install the appropriate pressure piece (matching the inner diameter of the wheel bearing race).
2. Insert the wheel hub from the front using the correct pressure piece or sleeve.
3. Press the wheel hub into position until it is fully seated.
