Wheel lock systems are widely used to protect alloy wheels against theft. When the original wheel lock key is lost, damaged or broken, removing the locking wheel bolt can become difficult or impossible using conventional tools.
This universal 13-piece tool set enables fast, safe and professional removal of nearly all wheel lock profiles without damaging the wheel.
It can also be used to remove rounded or deformed standard wheel bolts and wheel nuts.
Working Principle
The system uses specially designed formable inserts that are mechanically shaped by hammering them into the wheel lock profile.
Once formed, the insert precisely matches the profile of the locking wheel bolt, allowing the required removal torque to be transmitted safely.
In most cases, a single formed insert can be used to remove all four locking wheel bolts on the same vehicle.
For safety reasons, removed locking wheel bolts or wheel nuts should always be replaced.
Compatible Wheel Lock Profiles
Suitable for nearly all common wheel lock designs, including:
- External profile
- Internal profile
- Cloverleaf profile

Usage
This universal wheel lock removal tool set is designed for the safe and efficient removal of nearly all wheel lock profiles without damaging the wheel. It can also be used to remove rounded or damaged standard wheel bolts and wheel nuts.
The system works by using deformable extraction inserts that are mechanically shaped to match the profile of the wheel lock. Once formed, the insert transfers the required torque to remove the wheel lock. In most cases, a single formed insert can be used to remove all four wheel locks on the same vehicle.
After removal, the original wheel lock bolts or nuts should be replaced.
Step 1 – Identify the Wheel Lock
- Determine the type of wheel lock installed.
- Use the supplied center punch to check whether the wheel lock is hardened or non-hardened.
- If the punch leaves a clear indentation, the wheel lock is non-hardened.
Choose the appropriate extraction method:
- Hardened wheel locks with special profiles: Use one of the deformable extraction adapters. Select the size that best matches the wheel lock profile.
- Non-hardened wheel locks or damaged wheel bolts without a rotating collar or center bore: Use the extraction punch together with the adapter sleeve.
- Non-hardened wheel locks or damaged wheel bolts with a rotating collar or center bore: Use the appropriate extraction adapter directly, without the adapter sleeve.
Step 2 – Form the Extraction Profile
- Assemble the selected components.
- Position the tool squarely on the wheel lock using the supplied hand guard.
- Using a medium-weight hammer, strike the tool until the deformable insert or cutting jaws have fully engaged the wheel lock profile.
Step 3 – Remove the Wheel Lock
- First attempt to loosen the wheel lock using the supplied impact hammer.
- If additional force is required, use a breaker bar or an impact wrench.
- If the tool slips, repeat the forming process until a secure grip is achieved.
