Clutch Alignment Tool for VAG 5- and 6-Speed Manual Transmissions, as VAG T10086

This special alignment tool enables the clutch disc to be positioned accurately in relation to the flywheel and crankshaft.

Correct alignment considerably simplifies refitting the transmission and prevents clutch judder or irregular operation caused by an incorrectly centred clutch disc.

Selecting the Correct Alignment Tool

The correct alignment tool is not always clearly identified in the vehicle repair instructions.

• For a crankshaft with a small-diameter centring bore, use this tool as VAG T10086.
• For a crankshaft with a large-diameter centring bore, use item no. 124212 as VAG 3190A.

Always confirm the required version using the applicable vehicle repair instructions.

Installation Guidance and Torque Values

To prevent distortion of the clutch pressure plate, loosen and tighten its bolts evenly in 90° increments.

Pressure plate to dual-mass flywheel tightening torques:

• M6 bolts: 13 Nm
• M7 bolts: 20 Nm
• M8 bolts: 22 Nm

Always observe the tightening specifications provided by the vehicle manufacturer.
