Vibration Damper Removal Adapter for 4.0 TDI V8 EA898 – VAG (T40359)

This adapter is designed to extend the functionality of the crankshaft pulley holding tool (Art. 118863), allowing it to be used on 4.0L TDI V8 EA898 Generation I engines.

It is required for safe and controlled removal of the vibration damper during engine service procedures.

Important Note

The base tool (Art. 118863) is mandatory for use and is not included in this set.

Additional adapters may be required depending on engine family:

• (T40341) – for EA879 Generation I engines (Art. 120730)
• (T40384) – for EA897 Generation I engines (Art. 120731)
