Usage

  1. Select the extraction sleeve that best matches the wheel lock.
  2. Position the sleeve onto the wheel lock head.
    • The optimal engagement depth is approximately 8 mm.
    • Do not use the very beginning of the tapered section for extraction, as it is only intended for centering and may cause the sleeve to break if excessive force is applied.
    • The internal tapered design allows the sleeves to fit a wide range of wheel lock sizes, including intermediate dimensions.
  3. Drive the sleeve straight onto the wheel lock using a heavy hammer.
    • For recessed wheel locks, use the supplied driving punch.
  4. Remove the wheel lock using a wheel brace or suitable wrench, applying smooth and even force.
  5. After removal, place the extraction sleeve on a bench vise and drive the wheel lock out of the sleeve using the supplied removal punch.

Important Notes

Seized Wheel Locks

For extremely seized wheel locks:

  • Loosen all opposing wheel bolts.
  • Retighten them to approximately 130–140 Nm.
  • Using the driving punch and a 2 kg hammer, compress the wheel lock with several firm blows.
  • Then install the extraction sleeve as described above and remove the wheel lock.

3-Pin Wheel Lock Systems

Some 3-pin wheel locks feature a rotating outer metal ring, which prevents the extraction sleeve from gripping properly.

Before removal, the outer ring should be:

  • Removed,
  • Wedged, or
  • Prevented from rotating.

Painted or Smooth Wheel Locks

Wheel locks with a smooth or painted surface may initially provide insufficient grip.

Lightly strike the extraction sleeve 2–3 times in slightly different positions before fully driving it onto the wheel lock. This removes the paint mechanically, improves grip, and reduces the risk of slipping.
