Bucket Tappet Depressor Pliers for Hyundai, Kia, Nissan and Toyota, as 09248-05410

These special pliers are designed to press the bucket tappet downward during valve clearance adjustment.

Once the tappet has been depressed, a separate holding tool is positioned to keep it down. The pliers can then be removed, allowing the valve adjustment shim to be extracted.

Use with Item no. 106641, Item no. 116579 or Item no. 116580 is recommended. These holding tools are not included.

Operating Principle

1. Position the pliers correctly on the compatible valve-train components.
2. Press the bucket tappet downward.
3. Install a suitable holding tool to retain the tappet in the depressed position.
4. Release and remove the pliers.
5. Extract and replace the valve adjustment shim as required.

Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, Toyota and Lexus.

Compatibility must be verified according to the engine and valve-train design.
