The holding tool is used to retain the bucket tappet in its lowered position during valve clearance adjustment.

The tappet must first be pressed down with a separate tool. The holder is then positioned to keep the tappet depressed, allowing the adjustment shim to be removed.

Recommended Tool Combination

For depressing the bucket tappet on applications such as the Fiat Ducato 2.8 L 230 and 244, use of Item no. 22040 or Item no. 116578 is recommended.

For removing the valve adjustment shim, use of Item no. 14041 is recommended.

These additional tools are not included.

Operating Principle

Press the bucket tappet downward with a suitable separate tool.
Position the holder to retain the tappet in the depressed position.
Remove the adjustment shim with a suitable extraction tool.
Replace the shim as required and remove the holder according to the applicable repair procedure.
