This professional clamping tool is designed for shock absorbers equipped with rebound or return springs. It allows the shock absorber piston rod to be pulled outward and securely fixed at its maximum extension position during suspension assembly procedures.

On many modern shock absorbers, the integrated rebound spring retracts the piston rod into the shock absorber housing. Even when the suspension spring is fully compressed, installation of the spring plate and top mount may remain difficult because the piston rod thread cannot be reached easily.

The clamping tool helps hold the piston rod in the extended position, simplifying installation of suspension components while reducing unnecessary force and risk of damage.

The included protective plastic jaw inserts help prevent scratches and surface damage to the piston rod during operation.
