This compact conductivity and TDS meter is designed for evaluating coolant quality in high-voltage cooling systems used in hybrid and electric vehicles. It measures both electrical conductivity (EC) and Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), allowing quick assessment of whether the coolant still meets the low conductivity requirements specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

High-voltage coolant not only provides cooling, frost protection and corrosion protection, but also serves as an electrical insulator. Maintaining low electrical conductivity is essential for safe operation of high-voltage systems.


Protects High-Voltage Components

If conventional coolant or tap water is added during servicing or due to coolant loss, electrical conductivity may increase significantly. Excessive conductivity can lead to leakage currents or even short circuits within the high-voltage cooling system.

The tester provides the required measurements to determine whether the coolant remains within the manufacturer's specified limits or should be replaced.


Important Information

Measured conductivity values should always be evaluated according to the vehicle manufacturer's specifications.

High-voltage battery and fuel cell thermal management systems commonly use pre-mixed (ready-to-use) coolant that must not be mixed with conventional antifreeze. Mixing standard coolant with electrically insulating EV coolant can significantly reduce electrical insulation and may require complete coolant replacement if excessive conductivity is detected.
