Coolant pH Tester, pH 0–14, for Petrol, Diesel, Hybrid & Electric Vehicles

This digital pH tester is designed to determine the acidity or alkalinity of automotive coolants across a wide measuring range. It is suitable for coolant systems in petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric vehicles and can be used with all common coolant types and manufacturer-approved coolant specifications.

Modern cooling systems require regular monitoring of both freeze protection and coolant pH. Over time, coolant additives degrade and contaminants may alter the pH value, reducing corrosion protection and shortening the service life of cooling system components.

Protects the Cooling System

Monitoring the coolant pH helps prevent corrosion and premature component failure. Incorrect pH levels can damage:

• Radiators
• Heat exchangers
• Coolant pumps
• Thermostats and thermal management valves
• Cylinder head gaskets
• Rubber seals
• Plastic components
• Aluminium and steel cooling system parts

Many vehicle manufacturers specify periodic coolant replacement and pH inspection as part of the maintenance schedule.

Easy Measurement

Using the tester is simple:

1. Switch on the tester.
2. Immerse the probe into the coolant inside the expansion tank.
3. Move the probe gently through the coolant.
4. Allow the reading to stabilize.
5. Read the displayed pH value.
6. Clean the probe with distilled water after use.

Calibration Function

To maintain measurement accuracy, the tester can be recalibrated periodically. Ageing, deposits and contamination may affect measurement results over time.

Three calibration buffer solutions are included and are prepared by mixing them with distilled water.

Recommended pH Values

Recommended coolant pH range:

• Ideal: pH 7.5–10.5
• Below pH 7: Coolant becomes acidic and promotes corrosion.
• Above pH 11: Coolant becomes excessively alkaline and may attack rubber and plastic components.
