The electric brake bleeding device from Stahlmaxx combines all essential functions required for professional brake fluid replacement and brake system bleeding in a compact, durable, powder-coated aluminium housing.

Designed for efficient one-person operation, the unit enables quick, clean, and reliable bleeding of hydraulic brake systems on a wide range of vehicles.

Flexible Workshop Use

The device is equipped with a 3.5 m power cable and a 3.5 m filling hose, allowing flexible positioning whether the unit is placed in the engine bay or on the workshop floor while the vehicle is lifted.

A practical rear storage compartment accommodates standard 5-liter brake fluid containers made of plastic or metal, ensuring convenient fluid supply during operation.

Adjustable Pressure for Modern and Conventional Brake Systems

The continuously adjustable pressure regulator allows precise setting of the working pressure between 0.6 and 3.0 bar.

The integrated pressure gauge enables easy monitoring and adjustment to suit various brake systems, including:

  • Conventional hydraulic brake systems
  • ABS systems
  • ESP systems
  • SBC brake systems
  • ASR-equipped vehicles
  • Older and modern vehicle platforms

After switching the device off, the pressure is automatically released, allowing clean and environmentally friendly removal of the adapter without brake fluid leakage.

Integrated Pulse Function for Improved Bleeding Performance

The integrated pulse control generates vibrations within the brake circuit, effectively flushing and cleaning the hydraulic system.

Air pockets trapped in:

  • Bends
  • Narrow passages
  • Corners
  • Complex hydraulic channels

are removed more efficiently than with conventional pressure bleeders, ensuring a more thorough brake bleeding process.

Automatic Pressure Monitoring and Fluid Protection

For professional workshop operation, the device features automatic pressure monitoring that prevents air from being drawn into the brake system when the brake fluid level becomes too low.

The completely maintenance-free mechanical water separator and pre-filter system protects the fresh brake fluid against:

  • Moisture contamination
  • Foreign particles
  • Foaming during operation

The supplied universal sealing cone with suction hose can remain installed in the new brake fluid container for extended periods without negatively affecting the brake fluid.

Safety Information

This product is an electrical device intended exclusively for filling and draining brake fluid.

Operation must only be carried out by appropriately trained personnel. Always follow the vehicle manufacturer's specifications and the supplied safety instructions regarding the handling of electrical equipment and brake fluid.

Preparation

  1. Place the brake bleeder unit on a level surface and connect it to a suitable power supply.
  2. Place the brake fluid container in the holder basket on the unit and insert both the suction hose and the pressure equalization hose into the container.
  3. To prime and bleed the unit itself, connect the filling hose to an adapter and hold it over an empty collection container.
  4. Switch on the unit and press the Start button. Brake fluid will be pumped through the system and will flow out of the filling hose.
  5. Continue collecting the brake fluid until it flows out free of air bubbles.
  6. Switch off the unit and wait until the pressure gauge indicates 0 bar.
  7. The system is now free of air and the brake bleeder is ready for bleeding the vehicle's brake system.

Brake Fluid / Clutch Fluid Replacement

The brake bleeder is factory-set to an operating pressure of 1.6–2.0 bar. This prevents deformation of the brake fluid reservoir and minimizes the risk of leaks. If a higher or lower pressure is required, it can be adjusted using the pressure regulator knob.

Always follow the vehicle manufacturer's recommended pressure specifications to avoid damaging the reservoir.

  1. Before use, follow all steps described under "Preparation".
  2. Screw the appropriate adapter onto the vehicle's brake fluid reservoir and connect it to the brake bleeder filling hose.
  3. Connect the unit to the mains power supply and switch it on.
  4. Press and hold the Start button until the pressure gauge indicates at least 1 bar. The operating pressure can then be adjusted using the pressure regulator (maximum 3.0 bar).
    • If the unit switches off after releasing the Start button, either there is insufficient brake fluid in the supply container or the pressure setting is too low.
    • Check that the adapter is securely fastened to the brake fluid reservoir. If brake fluid leaks from the connection, switch off the unit immediately and identify the cause of the leak.
  5. The brake or clutch hydraulic system can now be bled according to the vehicle manufacturer's specifications. Connect a collection container to the bleed nipple and open it. Wait until the new brake fluid flows out free of air bubbles.

Repeat this procedure on the remaining brake or clutch components until the brake fluid replacement or bleeding procedure has been completed.

  6. Switch off the unit and wait until the pressure gauge indicates 0 bar. If the pressure does not release automatically, it can be released manually by turning the pressure regulator clockwise while the unit is switched off.
  7. The filling hose and the adapter can now be disconnected from the vehicle.

Important

If the brake pedal feels soft or spongy after bleeding, depress the pedal several times until normal pedal pressure is restored.

If the pedal pressure does not improve or remains too low, the bleeding procedure must be repeated.
