This specialized timing tool set is designed for the latest Jaguar and Land Rover Ingenium I6 3.0 petrol engines with engine code PT306.
It is used for timing chain replacement and precise engine timing adjustment on engines equipped with a dual timing chain system connected via an intermediate gear. The timing chain is located on the transmission side.

Functionality & Procedure Reference
(Reference vehicle: Range Rover (L405) 3.0, AWD, 400 HP, model year 2021, engine code PT306)
- Ribbed belt is tensioned via a tensioning device and fixed using a locking pin
- Timing check or upper chain replacement does not require gearbox and flywheel removal
- Lower timing chain service requires gearbox and flywheel removal
- Intermediate gear timing can be checked via inspection plug
- Crankshaft is positioned and locked at vibration damper using item no. 122001 (to be used as JLR-303-1659), also used for holding when loosening flywheel bolts
- Camshaft is locked using item no. 121999 (to be used as JLR-303-1657) via oil filler opening and inspection screw access at intake manifold
- VCT camshaft adjustment positioning and holding performed using item no. 121999 (to be used as JLR-303-1657)
- Camshaft adjuster positions (intake/exhaust) must be noted before removal and must not be interchanged

- Upper timing cover: 13 Nm
- Lower timing cover: M6 bolts 12 Nm, M8 bolts 25 Nm
- VVT solenoids: 9 Nm
- Chain guides: upper 11 Nm, upper left 25 Nm
- Timing chain tensioner: 55 Nm
- VCT camshaft adjuster bolts: 20 Nm + 60°
- Oil filler cap: 12 Nm
- Camshaft inspection screw: 10 Nm
- Crankshaft position sensor: 8 Nm
- Flywheel bolts: 30 Nm + 120°
